Overseas Students

The college is committed to offering a number of places to overseas students each year to both unaccompanied and accompanied students. Calvary College has enjoyed a long association with international students and recognises the valuable contribution these students make within the school community. Calvary welcomes overseas students into its family. It is part of the vision of the College to enhance understanding and goodwill between people of different nations.

Currently, students from a wide range of nations including, South Korea, the African continent, China, Japan and Papua New Guinea study on our Campus.
School education is very important to Australians who believe that all students should have quality educational opportunities from Primary School to University, no matter what their position is in society. Because of this belief, Australia has one of the best developed education systems in the world which attracts many international students each year, especially from Asia.

Secondary schooling in Australia offers preparation for entry into internationally recognised Australian universities with high academic standards and the opportunity to undertake this preparation in a school in an English-speaking country.

ESL PROGRAMME

Calvary Christian College offers an English as a Second Language programme for students from overseas.  These students undertake a course which has been especially developed to help them improve their English language skills at the same time as they undertake their normal studies. They take all other subjects in mainstream classes.

UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN - HOMESTAY

The College does not have a boarding facility, but the College may be able to assist with the arrangement of homestay accommodation.  Full details of this assistance including enrolment procedures may be found in the College’s Information and Policies Booklet relating to Overseas Students which is available upon request. Upon arrival at College, students will be introduced to other students and the Principal or Year Level Co-ordinator who will help to finalise subject selections. Students will also meet the College International Student Coordinator who will monitor general welfare, and provide on-going support.

SHORT TERM STUDIES

Calvary College also caters for overseas students wishing to study in Australia for periods of time shorter than 12 months. For full details and an application package, please contact the College.

All overseas students are expected to participate fully in the life of the College and to adhere to the Christian ethos of the College.
