School education is very important to Australians who believe that all students should have quality educational opportunities from Primary School to University, no matter what their position is in society. It is because of this belief that Australia has one of the best developed education systems in the world which attracts many international students each year, especially from Asia. Secondary schooling in Australia offers preparation for entry into internationally recognised Australian universities with high academic standards and the opportunity to undertake this preparation in a school in an English- speaking country.
All overseas students are eligible for the Queensland Tertiary Entrance Statement (Provisional) and the Queensland Studies Authority Senior Certificate (Provisional) at the end of Year 12. Many students continue on with studies at James Cook University. Tertiary Pathway Guidance is conducted by Calvary Staff throughout a student's senior years.
