Early Childhood

THE COLLEGE operates a Kindergarten room for children who are three (3) years of age and a Pre-Prep Room for children who are four (4) years of age.

PROGRAMME

It is a principle of early childhood education that children learn best through play.  The Christian framework, based on Biblical principles, underpins our education and this provides the foundation for effective learning and teaching in both the Kindergarten and Pre-Prep Programmes.

Both programmes include developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor activities and experiences.  Group sessions are interjected throughout the day and include music and movement; stories; finger plays; number rhymes and early mathematics and language games.  Programmes are developed by qualified staff, who plan experiences based on observations of children’s needs and interests.

The programmes are planned to reflect the school’s philosophy.  There is a Christian foundation to the programmes in the form of an underlying Christian outlook regarding themes and attitudes, the saying of grace before meals and the use of Christian songs and stories.
